Little Dolphins' Board of Trustees is comprised of members elected to three year terms, all working in the interest of a common vision, and are carefully chosen to maintain a balanced membership in a wide area of expertise. Board Membership is voted on by the sitting Board each spring for the following school year and is based on recommendations from the Nominating Committee.
Little Dolphins' Board of Trustees and the supporting committees, staffed by Board and staff members, are actively engaged in program, finance, and facilities planning, as well as implementation and oversight. The Board’s business of providing guidance and counsel to the Executive Director and Preschool Director, as well as direction and support to the school's operations, growth, and development is conducted through the inner workings of the Board Trustees.
Board members are chosen for the skills and expertise they can bring to the Board. In addition to a proven commitment to Little Dolphins and an interest in promoting education, Board members are selected to help assure a balance and background that will facilitate the strategic plans and vision of the school. Specific skill sets sought include: lawyers, architects, psychologists, entrepreneurs, visionaries, grassroots leaders, educators, and professionals from finance, real estate, business, and marketing. We also retain emeritus members for continuity and outside support. To ensure that all constituents at the school are represented, the Board includes ex officio members from the administration as well.
