Spanish Immersion Program

We are happy to announce that Little Dolphins will be offering a dynamic and action-packed Spanish Language Immersion Program for kids 3 to 9 years of age this summer!

Our summer Spanish Immersion Program offers a unique opportunity to children with different language backgrounds, ranging from native Spanish speakers to brand new learners.   We are offering a chance to immerse ourselves into the beautiful Spanish language and culture guided by our experienced Spanish teachers.  This is an experimental, fun, and hands-on foreign language acquisition at its best! 

During this Summer Program, the children will have an exciting learning experience that integrates creativity and free expression through Spanish, Art, Music, and Technology based learning.  Students will experience the diverse music and vibrancy of the arts from the Latin American World.  Children who are exposed to a second language acquire a sense of respect and appreciation for their own culture, and that of others. 

We offer our classes in 4 different age groups:

3 and 4 years old	Azul
4 and 5 years old	Amarillo
5 and 6 years old	Verde
6 and 7 years old	Morado
7, 8 and 9 years old	Rojo

 

Students from the greater Los Angeles community are also welcome to enroll and take advantage of this unique summer learning opportunity!

 

A typical day at the SUMMER CAMP will include the following:

Art	..........Based on literature with emphasis on grammar and conversation.
	..........Nurturing creativity
Music	..........Taught by SOL-LA
	..........Classical Music repertoire
Technology-Lab	..........Access to avant-garde tools
	..........Interactive Visual/Auditory Computer Lab
Movie-making	..........Kids will experiment with movie-making through hands-on experience
	..........Threading the stories that will unfold
	..........Will create a lasting product
Outdoor Play	..........Kids will have daily outdoor activities
	..........Emphasizing aerobic fitness

 

EVERYTHING WILL BE TAUGHT IN SPANISH!

The whole program is being created by Mimi and Margarita who have years of experience in age-appropriate curriculums. Pedagogy will be based on the latest research on bilingual education and the philosophy of Seven Arrows.

The Teachers are all Native Spanish Speakers with over 15 years of teaching experience.

3. Beatriz Llano  (Seven Arrows Teacher)
4. Adriana Jaramillo (The Columbus School, Medellín, Colombia)
5. Adriana Molina (The Columbus School, Medellín, Colombia)

 

In charge of Technology and Outdoor Activities:

1. Adam Cocarri – (Seven Arrows Elementary)
2. Daniel Asres –  (Little Dolphins)

 

Both the Assistant Teachers and the Junior Guides will also be Spanish speakers.

There will be 3 Spanish-speaking teachers and assistants in each classroom making the ratio 6:1 in every classroom. This is to maximize individualization. 

The available courses are:        

4-week course:
July 6th – July 31st

2-week course:
August 3rd – August 14th

Priority for enrollment will be given to students who enroll to participate in one continuous month, as this is the most comprehensive program.

Program cost:

• 1 Child - $475/week

A $200 non-refundable deposit, per child, per session is required.  Checks, VISA, Master Card, or AMEX are accepted.  Your child will be added to a waiting list if the particular age group has filled, and we will notify you as soon as a space is available.  Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive a reservation confirmation by May 10th.  The balance of tuition is due on June 1st.
